A number of years ago during the course of some business transactions I came to know a Fraser Valley family, Heather and Arleigh Fair and kids, who were building their entrepreneurial dream (for more about Heather and Arleigh go to Heather's Journal) . They were in the process of turning 80 wooded acres in Langley, BC, into a destination that would included a Bed and Breakfast, a lavender and echinacea farm, a variety of gardens for educational purposes and viewing pleasure as well as trails leading to meadows and beaver ponds. Their dream, "Tuscan Farm Gardens" has become a prime destination in the Fraser Valley. It has been featured in local print and TV media as well as receiving national and North American exposure. During the course of each year a variety of events held at Tuscan Farm Gardens have gained in popularity, two of which are the hugely successful "Lavender Fair" and "The Blooming".
Given that Langley is associated with outdoor activities, attractions and businesses the following series of images should make it easy to understand why this "farm", physically representative of "the Valley" topography is growing in popularity with not only locals but with visitors from all over the world. The charm of a family run atmosphere endears it to all who visit and who as a result are often reluctant to leave. I have spent many hours photographing this location and experienced its growth. The comments contained herein are personal and subjective. These images will leave no doubt as to why I feel the way I do about this location. The following visual menu will simultaneously introduce you to this destination as well as celebrate "Mother Nature" at her best. Enjoy the tour. |
